As Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning gets ready to hit screens later this month, the team behind the blockbuster franchise have given fans something else to get excited about when they visit theaters.

Serving as a follow-up to 2023's Dead Reckoning Part One, the upcoming eighth installment of the Tom Cruise action series isn’t just promising to be the biggest yet, its marketing materials are also set to be among cinema’s most elaborate.

On Thursday (May 1), Regal’s X account shared a new promotional video revealing the official Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning popcorn bucket.

For M:I fans, the red spherical casing will look very familiar as it’s the same one seen in Dead Reckoning Part One which houses rogue AI the Entity aboard sunken Russian submarine Sevastopol.

While it’s unlikely the popcorn bucket has the power to hack into any computer system connected to the internet, absorb and manipulate data rapidly, or impersonate individuals through text and audio, it does come with the two halves of the cruciform key needed to control or destroy the Entity. Do with them what you will.

When Tom Cruise isn’t hanging off the side of a plane, paying tribute to late co-stars, or promoting his own movies, he’s busy being a fan of cinema.

On Sunday (April 27), the Hollywood actor took to Instagram to praise Ryan Coogler’s new movie, Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan.

“Congratulations Ryan, Michael, and to the entire cast and crew. Must see in a cinema and stay through the end credits!” he captioned a photo of himself holding a ticket while stood inside a movie theater auditorium.

Cruise’s post caught the attention of Jordan, who plays both Smoke and Stack, the criminal twin leads in the film, who replied: “Thanks for the love and support.”

Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning arrives in theaters May 23.
