Owen Wilson and Matt Rife are starring in a new movie about Rolling Loud.
Deadline reports that Wilson and Rife will star as the leads in Rolling Loud — a father-son comedy set at one of the most popular hip-hop festivals in the world, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Written and directed by Jeremy Garlick of American High, the film is set to follow an overprotective father who sneaks his 13-year-old son into Rolling Loud. This questionable parenting decision leads to an adventure with Wilson’s equally wild coworker, who’s played by Rife, as they deal with the festival’s huge crowds, their own family issues, and security.
The news of this new film come just days before Playboi Carti is set to debut his upcoming album I Am Music at Rolling Loud Miami.
In a post shared on Instagram last month, Carti told his fans that he “can’t wait to see” them in Florida on Dec. 15. He also expressed that the album “will be played” in his performance.
People have taken that to mean that we’ll hear the album in full — but no information about what exactly will happen during Carti’s headline slot has been revealed.
In other recent Rolling Loud news, Paris-based influencer Saint Léon claimed that he was able to finesse his way into getting backstage at Rolling Loud Europe so that he could watch Travis Scott perform.
In a TikTok video shared on his profile, he blended in with festival workers and managed to get his way into Scott’s dressing room where he helped himself to some food.
