Hurricane Chris miffed that 50 Cent didn’t book any Louisiana artists to perform at his comedy showcase in Shreveport.
The “A Bay Bay” rapper, who previously let the world know that he wasn’t really a fan of Fif’s festival plan, posted a new video on social media criticizing the media mogul for how he handled the event.
“You threw a motherf*cking concert in Louisiana and didn’t book no Louisiana legends, didn’t put no bankroll in any Louisiana legends’ pockets, but you paid the police half a million dollars,” said Chris. “What kind of b*tch *ss sh*t is that?”
Chris continued on, expressing that he believes Fif is taking advantage of his hometown because he didn’t book any artists like Boosie, Webbie, or himself. “Shreveport had cheap ass land, he came and bought that shit,” he added.
Chris eventually came back to discussing the $500,000 that Fif gave to Shreveport police, venting that it could have been used for better purposes. “That f*cking money could have went to anything to help the youth, we don’t need more money invested into the police," he said.
On X, Chris also shared a similar sentiment, writing, “When I got my deal I saw Shreveport was a place that was looked at like a cheap investment but we still protected our home front to make sure we would keep what’s ours the city is using 50 cent to make the city money not the people half a mill on police Yu just fed the beast.”
Last month, Chris voiced his opinion about Fif’s involvement with his city.
“I feel like our culture and history is all on the line and I see who’s responsible for misleading him how u pop up in a city and don’t ask the streets what’s really poppin and start making statements about what we not calling ourselves we don't’ respect money we respect respect,” he wrote.
Chris’ strong feelings tied to his city, and specifically the police, could be tied to the lawsuit that he’s preparing to recoup all the damages and lost wages he missed during the three-year legal battle over a second-degree murder charge.
Last month, news surfaced that Chris is planning a civil lawsuit against the Shreveport Police department. According to the rapper, the department neglected to give him due process and didn’t properly investigate his case involving the shooting death of Danzeria Farris in 2020.
