Paris Jackson is disputing that she was “helpful” in connection with Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming Michael Jackson biopic following recent comments from Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo, who plays Joe Jackson in the film.

This week, People ran a piece featuring comments from the Sing Sing and Euphoria actor, who was quoted as saying that Paris, the late King of Pop’s daughter, had been “very helpful” to him. Domingo also said that Paris and her sibling, Prince Jackson, are both “very much in support of” the film, titled Michael and set for release next year.

According to Paris, however, her involvement was limited to merely reading an early draft of the script and providing notes.

“Don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had zero percent involvement in lol,” Paris wrote in an Instagram Stories update on Tuesday. “That is so weird.”

In a follow-up statement, Paris added more, writing, “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and godspeed.”

Paris, who was recently out on the road with Incubus, further clarified her position on Fuqua’s Jafar Jackson-led film in a series of videos, telling followers “a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it.” In Paris’s view, the film “panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom,” an approach she likened to that of recent Freddie Mercury and Motley Crue biopics.

“It’s fantasyland,” she said in one video. “It’s not real, but it’s sold to you as real. A lot of sugarcoated, like, the narrative is being controlled. There’s a lot of inaccuracy and a lot of full-blown lies.”

The “Bandaid” artist also said that she prefers “honesty over sales and monetary gain,” as well as said that she’s only met “this man,” presumably Domingo, “twice.” Both instances, she said, amounted to “hella brief interactions.”

In July, it was revealed that Michael’s release had been delayed again until April of next year. Among the actors confirmed to be joining Jafar Jackson and Colman Domingo in the cast are Mia Long, Miles Teller, and Laura Harrier.
