Kai Cenat made his Tonight Show debut on Wednesday, with the streaming superstar and host Jimmy Fallon at one point floating the idea of doing a marathon stream together.
As fans know, Cenat became a headlines mainstay last year with the star-stacked proceedings at the heart of his Mafiathon 2 streaming event. SZA, Nardwuar, Chris Brown, Lil Dicky, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and more were among the slew of special guests who stopped by for the record-setting stream. Asked how he goes about preparing for such a daunting endeavor like streaming 24 hours a day for a month straight, Cenat likened the process to being in pursuit of a championship.
“So if I know I’m doing a 30-day stream, or a long stream in general, the firs thing I’m going to do is get off the internet,” Cenat told Fallon. “I literally log off of it and I just remove myself from there so I don’t really know what’s going on. … Then I spend my time with loved ones, my mom, my family, and who I have to. And then it’s like, it feels like I’m about to do the NBA Finals or something. It’s like I’m going out there to win a championship.”
Once the prepping phase concludes, Cenat added, he turns his focus to tapping into creativity and a personal prayer practice.
“I prepare myself like that, I get off the internet, and I just make sure that I put all my soul and focus into the creativity,” he said. “Then I do a little prayer. I pray to God a lot. The rest is history.”
Cenat let it be known during his conversation with Fallon that he “might” do another Mafiathon, though he didn’t offer a timeline for when fans could potentially expect him to take the plunge again. Kai and Jimmy also discussed the etymology of “rizz,” his starring turn in an upcoming State Farm spot, a since-deceased mouse who once made a surprise appearance on stream, and more.
