Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson Get Caught Up in $60 Million Casino Heist in 'The Pickup' Trailer

Keke Palmer commandeers an armored truck in the upcoming action-comedy.

Fellow Saturday Night Live alums Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson are behind the wheel of an ambushed armored truck in the first trailer for The Pickup.

Keke Palmer, first seen in the trailer’s opening seconds on a decidedly eventful date with Davidson’s character, is on a mission to pull off a $60 million casino heist. Naturally, this high-stakes ripoff requires the use of an armored truck, leading the Nope star’s character, Zoe, to commandeer the one operated by Murphy’s Russell and Davidson’s Travis.

Further raising the stakes are a death threat, a pivotal marriage anniversary, and an increasing plethora of heist-complicating (not to mention survival-undermining) problems. Put another way, this film aims to humorously zero in on what is without a doubt the worst day to be an armored truck driver.

The cast is rounded out by Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch (whose hilarious turn in 2023’s Bottoms is always worth a revisit), Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova.

This is the second Pete-featuring trailer in as many weeks. Fans recently got a glimpse of what to expect from The Home, a new horror entry from The Purge creator James DeMonaco. See that here.

Next for Murphy is Shrek 5 with Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and franchise newcomer Zendaya. Set for release in December 2026, the Dreamworks Animation title comes more than 16 years after the most recent non-spinoff Shrek film, 2010’s Shrek Forever After.
