The oldest son of the late Michael Jackson revealed on social media that he and girlfriend Molly Schirmang are engaged, celebrating 8 years together as a couple.
In a post shared to Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, the 28-year-old philanthropist posted a carousel of photos showcasing moments with Schirmang over the years, accompanied by his late father’s 1987 hit, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You."
"8 years down, [infinity] to go. Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories. We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together. I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs," the caption read.
Among the photos shared was a picture of Prince kissing his new fiancée, who gently rested her hand on his chest to show off her engagement ring. Alongside that, he shared several pictures of their adventures together — hiking, kayaking, and celebrating their graduation from Loyola Marymount University.
Prince also included a photo of himself and Schirmang sitting on a bench with his 95-year-old grandmother, Katherine Jackson, outside Hayvenhurst, the Jackson family home in Encino, California.
Both fans and family members shared their support and congratulations in the comments of the Instagram post.
Prince's cousin, Taryll Jackson — son of the late Tito Jackson — expressed his joy in the comments, saying, “Congrats!!!” and included a smiling emoji and blue heart emoji.
His sister, Paris Jackson, showed her support and happiness by commenting, “warms my heart to see how much joy you two bring each other. happy anniversary love y’all.”
While Prince has mostly kept his love life private over the years, he opened up to People in 2018 about his relationship, saying, “I think that I’m a certain way, and she’s very — I don’t want to say opposite — but complementary in a way that we balance each other out. I’m more aggressive, she’s a little softer. It helps us stay well-rounded."
Prince has also talked about how he honors the memory of his late father, the King of Pop, who passed away in 2009. In a 2022 interview with E! News, he said, “I try to live my life with love, just like he taught me. I aim to help at least one person every day, and I see that as a way to carry on his legacy.”
