Leonardo DiCaprio is facing backlash after a video surfaced showing the actor seemingly ignoring hotel employees in Fiji as they performed a traditional welcome ceremony for him.
DiCaprio can be seen putting on his sunglasses as he walked through the lobby and started talking on the phone. With a hat and sunglasses shielding his face, the Oscar winner left the hotel with his head down while maintaining his phone conversation. The employees can be seen around the 20-second mark.
It's unclear if the 50-year-old was intentionally trying to ignore those around him or actually in the middle of a phone call. If it was the former, then the Academy Award nominee is putting on another incredible performance.
According to the Hindustan Times, DiCaprio's actions have been called "disrespectful" and "snobbish" on social media.
DiCaprio has been incredibly protective of his privacy. Page Six reported the actor recently held a 50th birthday party at the San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood where the 500 guests were given stickers to put over the cameras on their phones.
