Former spouses Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have had a tangled love affair, becoming engaged years ago, reuniting and marrying, and then divorcing.

They were reunited yet again in a different way on the red carpet on Monday, October 6 in New York City, when they joined together to promote their movie, Kiss of the Spider Woman. It was the first time they had appeared in public together since their marriage fell apart and ended in divorce.

They smiled and glanced adoringly at each other on the red carpet, photos from Getty Images show, and both have gushed about one another in recent interviews.

A writer for People even expressed hopes that the pair could romantically reunite, yes, yet again, and form "Bennifer 3.0."

"They say the third time is the charm, and I'm certainly hoping that is the case," wrote Stephanie Sengwe.

Some fans agreed. "I love them together," wrote one fan on X. "Can we please for the love of EVERYTHING get Bennifer 3.0?"

Another fan wrote, "Some people are just better as couples than they are spouses."

But others weren't rooting for another round of an up-and-down relationship between the two. "Absolutely not. She doesn’t deserve that. Actually no woman does," wrote one person on X.

"She’s amazing in the movie. I just can’t wait for the audiences to see the movie. I’m as proud of this movie as any that I’ve ever been involved with. I’m really, really excited to be here tonight," Affleck told Extra TV.

“It was obvious to me very early on in Jennifer’s involvement in this that she was gonna die or be great," he gushed. "You know, she just was gonna give it her all, and she did. She worked enormously hard. This role, you get to see, like, all of her many gifts. You know, she’s somebody that grew up watching, you know, the classic musicals and, obviously, can do contemporary dance and all that."

Lopez also gushed about Affleck to TODAY, saying, “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have (gotten) made, and I will always give him that credit."

She added, "I took some time off and now we’re back. And I’m really excited for everybody to see this film. It’s a beautiful film about love.”
