Love Island USA producers wasted no time in kicking off former castmate Yulissa Escobar for using the N-word.
Escobar, who appeared on the show's seventh season, said the expletive on two podcast appearances, which resulted in her being booted from the villa. Some Love Island fans who were aware of the controversy wanted Escobar gone, a request that show executives had already fulfilled.
Escobar's absence was announced at the beginning of an episode, when narrator Iain Stirling declared that "Yulissa has left the villa." While it's unknown if Escobar was edited out of the episode or left in the middle of the night, the show moved on to the remaining castmates waking up alongside their "options."
Escobar hasn't reacted to the news of her removal from Love Island on social media, but on Instagram, commenters have joked about her being kicked out.
"Update: WE WON SHES GONE!" one person wrote. "robbed us the chance of voting her out 😭" said another commenter.
According to TMZ, a friend of Escobar has defended her on Instagram, commenting: "lol... y’all act like you never said the N word before, stop being so fucking sensitive."
Escobar said the N-word a total of three times on two different podcasts, both videos showing her discussing relationships.
Meanwhile, Marc Lamont Hill went off on Piers Morgan for urging a bigoted white woman to say the N-word in his talk show last month.
Hill was a panelist on an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, alongside podcast Myron Gaines, cultural commentator Lilly Gaddis and columnist Rikki Schlott. Gaddis, who's a tradwife influencer with controversial views about the use of the N-word, proudly declared that she says the N-word "quite frequently," claiming that "Black people can say things to white people all the time and they never get canceled."
"I want to live in a country where people are allowed to say what they want unashamedly," she continued.
The comment prompted Morgan to urge Gaddis to say the N-word, which Hill put an immediate stop to.
