Janet Hubert has said she and Will Smith are in a better place over three decades after her exit from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Starring as Aunt Vivian Banks on there first three seasons of the popular TV show, Hubert was replaced in 1993 by Daphne Maxwell Reid due to friction with Smith.

The pair would later reconcile on HBO's 13th anniversary Fresh Prince special, where the actor reflected on how difficulties in her pregnancy and marriage spilled on set. She divorced her first husband and the father of her child, James Whitten, in 1994 after four years of marriage.

Hubert, who stars in Tubi series Damascus, was a guest on a recent episode of The Big Tigger Show, where she discussed where her relationship with Smith stands today.

Around the 12-minute mark of the video above, Hubert joked that she was back at the "scene of the crime," as it was 35 years ago that Smith discussed her during an interview on V103. "So, it's very cathartic for me and very healing for me to be here," Hubert told hosts Big Tigger and Jazzy McBee. "We've come full circle everybody."

When asked about the status of her relationship with Smith in 2025, Hubert said it was "so good."

"As a matter of fact, I'm going to give my baby his props. He put together the website with his team for me," she continued, adding that the team also distributed her pictures to streaming platforms.

"People said, 'Well, did he give you millions of dollars?' No, he didn't give me millions of dollars," she joked.

Hubert also recalled Smith participating in an event for her foundation, Embrace Girls, where he spent three hours mentoring children and providing them with essential goods.

Last year, Smith was on Vice show Black Comedy in America, and said he made a "horrible error" in misjudging Hubert's "value" to the Fresh-Prince. "I horribly underestimated what she was for me at that point in my life," he admitted.
