Blac Chyna and Derrick Milano appear to have taken Independence Day quite literally, with the pair announcing they've split up.

After two years of dating and one year of engagement, Chyna (real name Angela White) announced on Friday (July 4) via her Instagram Stories that she and Milano have broken up. The couple starred on the sixth season of Love & Hip Hop: Miami.

"After much prayer and reflection, Derrick and I have decided to call off the engagement," Chyna's message read, per TMZ. "We love each other deeply and are good friends, but we both believe that God's guidance has shown us that this is the right path for both of us as we continue our journeys."

"May we find peace and fulfillment in His divine will, trusting that His plan is greater than our own," she concluded.

Milano proposed to Chyna at Howard University's homecoming last October, just months after the socialite celebrated their one-year anniversary in an Instagram post. Chyna has a son, King Cairo Stevenson, 12, with ex-boyfriend Tyga, and a daughter, Dream Renée Kardashian, with former fiancé Rob Kardashian.

Last November, Chyna and Milano insisted during an interview on Angela Yee's Lip Service that they wouldn't sign a prenup and didn't plan to divorce.

"Well, you know what? I'm not against it, I'm not opposed to it," Milano told the show's co-host Jordan Emanuel after being asked about a prenup. "But I mean, ‘cause she has a lot of stuff already, you know what I'm saying? She got her cars, like, that's hers. She got her Sprinter, that's hers. She has her house, that's hers. I have my stuff, that's mine, you know what I'm saying. But I'm not one of those people like, Oh, you need to do one.’"

Blac Chyna ended the conversation, proclaiming: "There won't be a prenup…‘cause we're not getting divorced. That's it."
