In a moment that left some of the internet’s biggest streamers speechless, model and influencer Sophie Rain pledged $1 million to MrBeast’s clean water charity during a live fundraising event with Adin Ross and xQc.
According to Vanity Fair, Rain joined the call midstream, telling the group she had been looking for a way to contribute.
“I’ve been wanting to donate,” she said. “I’m just not sure how to, so I’m glad you called me because I wanna donate a million dollars, is what I want.”
Her announcement drew stunned reactions from the hosts.
“Wait, wait, wait… you say?” the YouTuber—whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson—asked, visibly caught off guard.
Rain confirmed without hesitation.
“Yes, no, I’m 100% sure. This is an awesome cause. I appreciate everything you do and you’re just an amazing person, and I just want to support this because it’s awesome.”
“Whoa, thank you,” came the reply, as the chat feed lit up in disbelief.
The donation immediately propelled Rain near the top of the event’s leaderboard, which was tracking contributions toward an $8 million goal.
As of the time of her pledge, the TeamWater stream had surpassed $4.45 million raised, with Rain listed among the top donors alongside streamer xQc and philanthropist Sean Bloom.
Donaldson, Ross, and xQc pledged to keep the broadcast—which was hosted on Ross’s Kick channel—running until they hit $5 million, a target they’ve since blown past.
While the night’s headline was Rain’s million-dollar gift, the stream also delivered its share of unscripted moments. Earlier in the broadcast, Donaldson had to set boundaries with Ross after repeated touches on the shoulder.
“What is with you, and touching me?” he asked, prompting Ross to laugh and deflect. Eventually, Donaldson drew the line: “You take your hands, and keep ’em away from me.”
The exchange didn’t derail the event’s momentum.
Ross, known for keeping the banter light, joked about redirecting his attention to xQc, who responded with a handshake.
The trio continued trading playful jabs between donation updates, with Donaldson declining Ross’s later request to touch his hair.
For Rain, the moment was about more than just numbers. “It’s so much,” she acknowledged, “but I’m sure. This is the kind of thing that matters.”
