A juror in the Sean "Diddy" Combs trial is speaking out as controversy surrounding the verdict has erupted over the past 24 hours.

In an interview with ABC News, the juror — who preferred to remain unnamed — slammed chatter that the rapper was acquitted on two counts of sex trafficking and one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering because he's famous.

"We spent over two days deliberating. Our decision was based solely on the evidence presented and how the law is stated," the juror said. "We would have treated any defendant in the same manner regardless of who they are. I have nothing else to say."

Combs was convicted on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution and is facing time behind bars — though he won't be sentenced to life in prison. The rap mogul, 55, has been in jail since his September 2024 arrest. Following the verdict, the prosecution asked for his release on $1 million bond (and he would have surrendered his passport), per NBC News, but the judge denied the request. Now, Combs will remain behind bars until his sentencing, which is expected in October.

The Associated Press notes that Diddy could be sentenced to 10 years behind bars, though the defense team believes that U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian is more likely to sentence him to two years. Combs will get credit for time already served, which means that he could be a free man in 2026.

Following the verdict, one of Combs' attorneys spoke out.

"This is a huge win," Anna Estevao said outside the courthouse. "He was acquitted of sex trafficking, acquitted of RICO conspiracy, he will be able to sleep well at night knowing that."
