Real Housewives of New York star Brynn Whitfield won't be returning to the franchise if and when Bravo decides to move forward with it.
"After a lot of thought, I've made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now," Whitfield wrote on her Instagram Stories on Monday, June 9.
"The Real Housewives of New York City will always be one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of my life. It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise. From day one, I've believed RHONY is a fan's show — we're just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers," she added.
Whitfield's announcement comes more than one month after the network confirmed that the rebooted series was going on an indefinite pause.
Back on May 7, Bravo confirmed some of its upcoming shows, including a brand new Housewives franchise, this time in Rhode Island. Missing from the announcement, however, were the New York and New Jersey franchises.
Earlier this year, RHONY wrapped its second full season (following a complete cast reboot) in January. During the Season 15 finale, Whitfield and co-star Ubah Hassan exchanged words after tensions grew between the two women throughout the season. Their relationship deteriorated at a rapid clip after Whitfield felt that Hassan implied that she had "slept with someone" to land her a role on the show.
It seems Whitfield's rough season took its toll, and she is ready to move on from the show. She has a few things to look forward to, including the release of a new book.
"Prepare to laugh, cry, and possibly poop when you read my book coming out later this year. To date, I've only shared a fraction of who I am, what I've been through and what I've learned. It's the most vulnerable thing I've ever written," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
