Runsy on the Importance of Representation & Family in Her Art | Portraits of Heritage

Watch here to see the artist break down her inspirations and aspirations.

Esperanza "Runsy" Rosas' dad was her first art teacher. "My father taught me how to color,” she says in the second episode of Portraits of Heritage, a new series created in partnership with Modelo. And she hasn’t stopped creating since, doing things for herself and her culture. With a little help from her family, and a lot of pride in her Mexican heritage, she became an artist to “create change.” Watch above to see Runsy break down her inspirations and aspirations, as she plays lotería with fellow creatives Le$ and Jorge Casanova of Houston brand D.I.O.S. and El Creativo, as part of Portraits of Heritage series. The results speak for themselves.
