Oprah Winfrey surprised longtime friend Gayle King for her 70th birthday over the weekend.

The pair of friends went to Ci Siamo in Manhattan, for what Gayle reportedly thought was an intimate dinner, per TMZ. However, Oprah had a surprise.

In clips posted by Winfrey, King is visibly startled when a mass of people yell, “Surprise!” Gayle looks shocked to see dozens of her friends, which include Tina Knowles, Robert De Niro, Stephen Colbert, Ava DuVernay, Dave Chappelle, Jeff Bezos, Katy Perry, Niecy Nash, and Brooke Shields.

Oprah also posted a clip of Colbert busting a few moves to Beyoncé’s “Cuff It.”

Gayle’s birthday isn’t until Dec. 28. According to Oprah, Gayle “doesn’t like to inconvenience anyone” because her birthday falls between Christmas and New Year’s.

“We bake her favorite yellow cake and her favorite food (Dover sole and hot crescent rolls)," Winfrey captioned a series of photos. "But this year we threw her a birthday blowout with all the people that love her. It was a Gayle love fest—and she deserves every bit of it.”

Gayle also thanked Oprah in an IG post.

“@oprah is theeeeeeee best of the best! There will be no words to properly thank her for my 70th extravaganza. I feel like she gave me the party I wanted HER to have back in January. It was a good ole fashion dance party with dancing and food and good friends. I rarely feel like the belle of the ball but I sure did that night….. still floating.”

According to TMZ, the pair have been friends since 1976 after meeting at a Baltimore TV station they both worked at.
