Colman Domingo says he almost accidentally joined a cult after meeting a very nice group of people in Mexico City.

The Euphoria star recently appeared on an episode of Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals podcast where he spilled on everything from his success to his personal life—all while enjoying a delicious meal.

At some point, the show's host brought up the concept of some of Hollywood's most wealthy and successful actors living in isolation. The host pointed out the isolation trend seems to be rising, in an almost cult-like fashion.

Domingo says that's not the life for him, as he feels in order to portray different aspect of humanity he feels he needs to be a part of it in all aspects.

The actor then said, "I almost joined a cult in Mexico City but that’s another story. It was like, it was just a group of nice people. And then I was like, wait a minute, this is weird. I was like, what’s up with you guys? Yeah, this is my first encounter. But as I did research and found out more about them, I’m like, oh that’s a cult."

The host joked, "I still feel like we should join, but I, after we’ll get dessert and mull it over." Domingo replied, speaking about the podcast, "Is this a cult? It might be." The two then went on to their dessert course of sticky toffee pudding and sweet potato pie.

Domingo has had a ton of success over the years, taking home the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama for his role in Euphoria back in 2022. He also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his role in The Four Seasons earlier this year.

He has also received Best Actor nominations at the Academy Awards for his roles in Rustin and Sing Sing in 2024 and 2025.
