Cher turned back time to the golden days of Studio 54, dancing the night away with her much younger boyfriend.
Cher and Alexander 'AE' Edwards were in attendance at the Valentino Beauty party inside the iconic venue to help kick off New York Fashion Week. Cher and AE hit the dance floor, grooving together to disco mixes.
At one point, Cher put her arms on AE's shoulders while the two smiled and continued to dance the night away. Among the other celebrities in attendance were Colman Domingo, Evan Ross, Lourdes Leon and Lenny Kravitz.
Valentino transformed the venue into a one-night only event to celebrate the brand's latest launch—the Rendez-Vous Ivory Collection.
78-year-old Cher met 38-year-old AE back in 2022 during Paris Fashion Week, and the two were later seen holding hands in Los Angeles. They've seemingly been going strong ever since, though there have been whispers of the couple splitting and getting back together over the years.
Cher has defended the couple's 40 year age gap, tweeting, "Love doesn't know math."
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Cher said of their relationship, "Older men just didn’t like me all that much." She told Clarkson, “Do you know what I mean? I have had a couple boyfriends that were hovering around my age, but they just didn’t like me for some reason."
During the interview she added, "And maybe younger men don’t care if you’re funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things, and you have the strong personality. I’m not giving up my personality for anybody, okay?”
Cher then praised AE, saying, "On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve." She added, "He’s very kind, very smart, he’s very talented, and he’s really funny—and I think he's quite handsome."
