Brett Goldstein has gone toe-to-toe with fictional footballers and swapped lines with Harrison Ford, but nothing compared to the spectacle that followed Jennifer Lopez onto a movie set.

The Emmy-winning Ted Lasso star teamed up with Lopez for Office Romance, a Netflix rom-com filmed partly in Hoboken, New Jersey. With the Bronx just across the river, Goldstein quickly realized what it meant to shoot with one of the most recognizable women in the world.

“Honestly? A nightmare,” he said to USA Today during a recent in-depth interview. “The two days we filmed outside were, forget it. Paparazzi everywhere. Absolute madness,” he explained.

Goldstein added that if they ever work together again, he’s setting boundaries: “Next time, everything stays indoors. No exterior shots. Ever.”

Office Romance doesn’t have a release date yet, but it joins a growing list of projects for Goldstein.

His latest, All of You, is already streaming on Apple TV+. The film, which he co-wrote and stars in, is a sci-fi love story opposite Imogen Poots. Goldstein said their chemistry was instant—even before cameras rolled: “Five minutes into the Zoom audition I thought, ‘I’ve known you forever.’ We were laughing like old friends.”

The script itself has been in the works for over a decade. Goldstein and co-writer William Bridges kept revisiting the idea until they finally forced themselves to finish. “We’d be working on other stuff, and then one of us would bring it up again. Eventually, we just said, 'We need to [expletive] write this,'” Goldstein recalled.

Even as his own star rises, Goldstein admitted he still gets rattled around certain legends. Harrison Ford, his co-star in Shrinking, remains the one person who leaves him in awe.

“I’ve worked with him for three years and I’m still not cool about it,” he said. “He’s so charming and easy, but in my head it’s always, ‘That’s Harrison Ford.’”
