Mariah Carey knows how to deliver a moment—and her reaction to Nick Cannon’s latest headline-making move was nothing short of classic.
The Grammy-winning icon appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when the host brought up Cannon’s unusual decision to insure his testicles for $10 million.
At first, Carey looked visibly confused before letting out a deep sigh. “When did he say this?” she asked Cohen. When told the comment came back in May, Carey rolled her eyes, snorted, and muttered, “Lord help me.”
Cohen pressed further, asking if Cannon’s manhood was really worth the multimillion-dollar price tag. Carey didn’t miss a beat—she laughed, shook her head, and dodged with, “I gotta go to the next question.”
Cannon first revealed the policy during an appearance on the Tea Time with Raven & Miranda podcast in May. The Masked Singer host explained that it started as a joke but turned into a legitimate deal with grooming brand Dr. Squatch.
“They were like, ‘Yo, a lot of celebrity women are insuring their legs,’” Cannon recalled. “They asked me what my most valuable asset was, and I said, ‘My balls!’”
According to Cannon, the coverage is real—$5 million each, with the money going to his kids in the event of his passing. With 12 children across six women, Cannon has leaned into the running jokes about his large family. “I got the insurance policy in my office. It’s legit,” he said.
Carey and Cannon married in 2008 after meeting on the set of her “Bye Bye” video. The couple welcomed twins, Moroccan and Monroe, in 2011 before separating in 2014 and finalizing their divorce two years later. Despite their high-profile past, the two have maintained a steady co-parenting relationship.
Cannon often refers to the twins as his “homies” and recently admitted they jokingly call him “Cringe Cannon.” Carey, meanwhile, continues to balance her career and motherhood while steering clear of her ex’s ongoing baby boom.
