Kim Kardashian has called out Donald Trump's aggressive immigration policies and the ICE raids forcibly deporting people across the country.

As reported by TMZ, Kardashian was asked about the state of affairs in the United States by a journalist in Venice, Italy, and didn't mince her words on the Trump administration or ICE.

"In the news you hear, ‘Oh, it’s about people who have committed these crimes and they’re trying to help out our country.’ But then you hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected," she said. "People I know. People my friends know."

Kardashian, who previously met with Trump about criminal justice reform and helped commute the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, said that the Trump administration is sending one message while enacting another. "You want to believe that there’s a powerful message in protection, but then you see that it’s not really happening like that," she said. "It’s really tough, but I think that we have to do what we can to protect the people that have really supported and built our country."

She added that she's open to going back to White House to meet with Trump so that she can "fight for the rights of people I believe in," regardless of how she feels about the current administration.

This isn't the first time Kim Kardashian has spoken up about the aggressive ICE deportations this year. "When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals, great," she wrote on her Instagram Stories during the onslaught of deportations in Los Angeles in June. "But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right."

She made it clear that she believes this is a bipartisan issue and that people should speak up against this regardless of where they fall politically. "It's clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants," she continued. "We can't turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There has to be a BETTER way."

As reported by The Guardian, there have been over 180,000 arrests by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement since Trump took office in January. As of August 11, there are over 59,000 currently in detention, and there have been over 180,000 total deportations. A good portion of those in detention don't even have a criminal record.
