Joe Exotic slammed President Donald Trump for pardoning Todd and Julie Chrisley while he remains behind bars.
The 62-year-old Tiger King star shared his frustration in a press release shared to his X account.
“I have never been more disappointed in my life that President Trump is pardoning all of these people that have actually committed crimes and yet the President leaves me in here as an innocent man,” read the statement, which also criticized government witnesses for allegedly admitting to perjury against him in Season 2 of Tiger King.
“The governments ‘so called’ hitman even took the producers of Tiger King and my lawyer John Phillips to the zoo and showed them where he hid a murder weapon in the woods and told him how they planned to kill me if putting me in prison didn't work to steal my zoo,” he added.
"This officially shows the Justice system is still two sided. You are either rich and connected or your poor and being trafficked by the system," read a separate shared to his official Instagram account.
Todd and Julie Chrisley, the real estate tycoons who starred in Chrisley Knows Best, had been serving a combined 19-year sentence for federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion from 2022.
The couple denied the charges at the time, claiming they were unfairly targeted because of their conservative beliefs, according to NPR. Their oldest daughter, 27-year-old Savannah, spoke at the Republican National Convention in July calling her parents victims of political persecution.
On Tuesday (May 27), White House special assistant Margo Martin shared a video of Trump calling Savannah from the Oval Office to inform her of her parents’ pardons.
On the other hand, Exotic is serving a 21-year sentence for a murder-for-hire plot against Carole Baskin. He has been vocal on social media about his efforts to gain Trump’s support, especially in light of the recent deportation of his husband, Jorge Marquez Flores.
