Lady Gaga is a creative force, both in music and on-screen. And a big collaboration with a legendary director is on the way.
During the Giffoni Film Festival, director Tim Burton answered some questions from fans in the audience following a screening of the second season of Wednesday. When asked what it was like working with Gaga, Burton sang her praises.
“Honestly, she's an amazing artist, and I just worked with her on Wednesday a little bit,” said Burton, before hinting at a future project. “And I've done something else with her.”
Burton didn’t go into much detail about what this “something else” was, but he continued to give Gaga her flowers. “She's just an inspiring artist, so I feel very connected to her. Just for me, it's exciting to work with an artist that I respect and admire. I'm not a musician, I'm not a music person, but she's a real artist, and that was very inspiring to me.”
In addition to music, Gaga is known for her roles in 2021’s House of Gucci and 2018’s A Star is Born. The multihyphenate is currently having an incredible year. Back in March, she released her seventh studio album Mayhem, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This came months after Gaga’s scene-stealing role as Harley Quinzel in Joker: Folie à Deux — for which she also released an accompanying album.
In Wednesday, Gaga will play Rosaline Rotwood, a teacher at the Nevermore Academy where the show’s namesake, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), attends. The news was revealed back in May at Netflix’s Tudum event, where the Grammy and Oscar winner performed “Zombieboy” from Mayhem.
The first four episodes of Wednesday’s second season premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, August 6. The final four will premiere on September 3. Ahead of the show’s Season 2 premiere, Wednesday has been renewed for a third season.
