Young Thug performed surprise concert in front of Fulton County Courthouse for his fans on Sunday
The rapper, who was previously banned from Atlanta due to the terms of his probation until the condition was amended in December, announced the surprise show on Sunday (Sept. 28).
Thug tweeted a picture of his album cover with the words “LIVE FROM ATLANTA” on the front, followed by the date and time.
The stream started at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday and can be watched on YouTube and Twitch. At 5 p.m. ET, the livestream had only shown a DJ perform a set in front of small crowd at the courthouse.
Thug’s surprise show is undoubtedly to promote his new album, UY SCUTI which came out on Sept. 26.
Thug performed hits like "Ski," and "Digits," among other songs.
Thug also told those in attendance to "stop the violence" in Atlanta.
On the cover of UY SCUTI, Thug brightened his skin and gave himself blue eyes in a move that threw listeners off guard.
After the project went live, Thugger posted a carousel of photos of guest artists who appear on the album, including Lil Baby, Quavo, Sexy Red, and T.I., reimagined in a similar style.
Thugger captioned the post, “My new friends.”
Thug hasn’t given a concrete reason for the skin lightening. The only clue comes from an Instagram post that went live a few hours before the album’s release.
"IF YOU WANNA BE THE BIGGEST….GO WHITE!!" he wrote.
