Sabrina Carpenter recently reflected on her extreme emotions when she met Paul McCartney for the first time.
Carpenter revealed how she felt when she met the legendary singer in her recent interview with Nardwuar, where the two checked out various records. When McCartney came up and Nardwuar asked about him (around the 29:30 mark), Carpenter explained how she linked up with the Beatles legend for the first time.
“I love Paul, he’s one of my favorites,” she said. “I met Paul for the first time at a party. I don’t know what party it was, but I remember thinking, like, ‘Why is Paul McCartney here? I felt like I was on drugs.”
“I started crying when I met him,” she continued. “He was so sweet and he was so nice, and I honestly don’t remember what he said. The second time that I met him was at the SNL 50th anniversary. He was so sweet to me, and it was the best interaction. He’s one of my dream people to work with.”
Back in December, Carpenter compared meeting McCartney to Netflix's hit show Stranger Things. "I just actually formed tears in my eyes, and then he was just so normal and casual and was so charming," she said during an appearance on Late Night with Stephen Colbert. "It just felt like I was kind of entering an alternate universe, like the Upside Down vibes, like Stranger Things, but a lot happier than Stranger Things."
Elsewhere in her Nardwuar interview, Carpenter was shocked to learn that her former record label, Hollywood Records, only printed up 200 vinyl copies of her debut studio album, Eyes Wide Open, in 2015. “Only 200 made? They really didn’t give a fuck about me!” she said while laughing. The singer admitted she didn’t have a copy of it either.
In other recent Carpenter news, it seems like she may have a collaboration with Nicki Minaj coming out in the near future.
On Aug. 29, Minaj posted “Don’t Worry I’ll Make You My Worry” from Carpenter’s new album, Man’s Best Friend, on her Instagram Story. After Vogue’s Entertainment Director, Sergio Kletnoy, questioned if they were collabing, Carpenter cryptically responded with “Loveaffair” alongside a few heart emojis.
Minaj joined the teasing session by writing “Don’t Worry, [Sergio]” along with a saluting emoji.
