Jadakiss and Lil Uzi Vert stopped by the Bar Mitzvah of a celebrity jeweler’s son and cranked the energy up to eleven.
On Oct. 4, the legendary rap star and modern rap force took the stage at the Bar Mitzvah of Jaden Todd, held at NYC's Angel Orensanz Foundation. Jaden is the son of celebrity jeweler Alex Todd, who’s sold watches to iconic artists like Jay-Z and Rihanna.
In footage from the event shared on Alex's Instagram Stories, both Jadakiss and Uzi can be seen with microphones at different times. In Uzi’s case, attendees joined them for a performance of “Money Longer," while Jada is seen performing his classic "We Gonna Make It."
Jaden’s epic coming-of-age celebration happened due to the success that his father Alex has had in the industry. The Brooklyn-born jeweler has become renowned for his ability to craft high-end pieces and watches. One piece in particular was a custom Richard Mille watch for Jay-Z that reportedly took around 3,000 hours to make.
Outside of jewelry, Alex has had his hands in other pots. In 2019, he partnered with rapper Jim Jones to create a cannabis brand called Saucey Farms and Extracts that has a distribution partnership with Jay-Z’s The Parent Company.
In a statement to Complex, Alex pointed to his lifelong “connoisseur” and advocate status as being important to the brand’s success.
"I've always considered myself to be a cannabis connoisseur and an advocate for the plant's healing power, so I'm thrilled to finally launch Saucey Extracts and bring this passion project to market," he said. "We're committed to offering high-quality cannabis for a wide range of adult consumers, from novice users to veteran aficionados."
"I smoke the best, so it only made sense that I partner with the best," said Jones of the collab. "The way people look at cannabis culture is changing—there's a lot of medical and creative benefits to these plants—so there's an opportunity for us to do something special with Saucey Extracts and change the game."
