Nico Ballesteros, the director behind the new Kanye West documentary In Whose Name, says that a new cut of the film that he’s releasing will “change everything.”

Ballesteros announced a new version of the film on X, with a post suggesting that certain scenes had to be cut for it to be released theatrically. “THE TRUTH IS COMING,” he wrote.”THE CUT FOR STREAMING WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING. WE HAD TO TROJAN HORSE CULTURE WITH THE THEATRICAL RELEASE.”

“TRUST THE PROCESS. I APPRECIATE THE PROCESS AND AM IN SERVICE TO IT.”

In Whose Name was a documentary shot over the course of six years by Ballesteros — who got the chance to film it because he reached out to the rapper on social media.

The film, comprised of thousands of hours of footage, dives into multiple key moments from across several of Ye’s recent milestones, such as visiting the Oval Office and meeting Donald Trump, to getting into a tense confrontation at SNL with comedian Michael Che.

In one scene from the film that’s gone viral, Ye glt into an argument about his mental health with Kris Jenner, mother to his former wife, Kim Kardashian.

“No one from the family has taken any responsibility for my hospital visit,” Ye yelled to Jenner. “But if you were to go online, that’s 50 percent of what people say, at least. Am I lying?”

At first, Jenner responded with, “It doesn’t matter,” before Ye reacted by shouting back at her.

“It do matter!” he screamed. “It does matter! It does matter!”

After Kris noted that she hadn’t finished her sentence, she added, “It matters to us and you. It doesn’t matter what the internet says. It matters what we think, Ye.”

“So what do you think, did you have an effect on my mental health?” he asked.

“Yes, yes, yes. I’m saying yes, and I love you,” she responded, her voice cracking. “I love you. I don’t want you to be not perfect. I love you and I want my daughter to love you the way you want her to love you.”
