Mysterious new posters popping up around Amsterdam may make people think that André 3000’s about to drop a new album, but they’re really for helping him find his missing notebook.
The rap legend posted pictures of posters in the wild that seek information about his missing notebook. Details about the notebook are listed on the poster: It’s a blue, two-toned hardcover notebook that he last saw on March 29 in Amsterdam with “black sketches and notes inside.”
If there’s any doubt about how serious André 3000 is about locating this poster, just look at the lengths he’s going through to track it down. There’s an official email address, website, and link to download the poster so the public can hang it up themselves and track it down.
There’s even a private Instagram account of the same name‚ presumably so he can be contacted through there, as well.
This fully fleshed out notebook recovery method made fans online believe that André 3000 was actually teasing new music, but a rep for the rapper confirmed to Stereogum that he really is just looking for the notebook.
But expecting new music isn't that far off, as André 3000 has not only promised he’d be dropping in 2025, but also that it would be in a surprising way. In an interview with Amazon Music last November, André 3000 revealed what he planned to release this year.
“New music for sure,” André 3000 said. “New ways to distribute and express. I don’t want to pinpoint what it is, but I do want to express more.”
His last studio album, New Blue Sun, came out in 2023.
