Akademiks referred to Megan Thee Stallion as a “liar” during his deposition by lawyers in the rapper's ongoing case against Milagro Cooper.
In one of the clips from the deposition that he shared, Akademiks explains his feelings about Megan.
“That chick is a liar, and I don’t believe liars,” he said.
In a different clip, Akademiks admitted that a jury believed that Tory Lanez was guilty of shooting Megan in the 2020 incident that resulted in his conviction, but questioned whether that same jury "believed everything she said on the stand."
Akademiks answered a series of questions about his livelihood in mostly yes or no responses, such as admitting that he’s been paid by “every record label known to man” for promotion and saying that Drake “never transferred a dollar” to him.
On Instagram, Akademiks shared his thoughts on the deposition. In one post, he zooms in on a plate full of food that he had nearby while being questioned.
“Pulled up to the Roc Nation/ Meg Thee Stallion requested deposition like a cookout had to make sure I got a plate in hand,” he wrote.
In a separate post, Akademiks revealed some of the questions he was asked.
“This deposition meg thee stallion got me in asking me bout Tory [Lanez], Drake, and Nicki Minaj more than their client Meg the stallion,” he wrote, along with several emojis.
"‘U sure Drake ain’t pay u,’ ‘’U sure Nicki ain't paying blogs,’ ‘Who is grand wizard,’ ‘Did Tory send u bread on cash app,’" Akademiks listed.
Megan's suit accuses Cooper, a blogger and YouTuber, of acting "on behalf of" Tory Lanez to "churn out falsehoods" about the Texas rapper.
"Defendant acts as a paid surrogate used to spread [Tory's] lies about [Megan]," the complaint reads.
Akademiks is mentioned in the suit as someone who shared Cooper's posts, as well as spreading "conspiracy theories that [Megan] was never shot."
Ak's mention of lying may be related to Megan's admission that she lied to interviewer Gayle King in a 2022 interview when she denied that her relationship with Lanez had been sexual.
“Yes, bitch, I lied to Gayle King, bitch,” Meg said in her documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words.
“First of all, I didn’t know that bitch was gon’ even ask me about that shit, we supposed to be talking about this shooting, why is you asking me about fucking Tory?”
She continued, “That’s not what this is about. Even if it was, I fucked this n***a like once, maybe twice, on a drunk night. Bitch kept catching me out of my fucking mind.”
Lanez was sentenced to ten years in prison for shooting Megan.
In July, Akademiks announced during a Rumble stream that he’d been subpoenaed by Megan’s lawyers.
Earlier this month, Megan’s lawyers accused Cooper of destroying evidence by deleting thousands of messages from her phone — suggesting that some of them were communications between the defendant and Lanez’s father.
“Despite good faith attempts at conferral, Defendant has presented no well-reasoned explanation for the mass deletion of thousands of messages from her cell phone,” wrote Megan’s lawyers in a legal document dated Aug. 6.
In July, Cooper was ordered to pay Megan’s lawyers $5,000 to cover the costs of forced disclosure of the blogger’s texts, as well as other potential evidence.
