Pooh Shiesty is being welcomed back with open arms following his release from federal custody.
As previously reported, 2022 saw the Memphis-born Shiesty Season artist being sentenced to 63 months in connection with a 2020 shooting. Months earlier, Shiesty pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking, per the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida.
At the time, it was noted that Shiesty had been given credit for the year he’d already spent behind bars, with good behavior potentially leading to his release from custody in about three and a half years.
Fast forward to this week, and it appears Shiesty is indeed enjoying some level of freedom. Kayy Trenise, a.k.a. K Carbon, shared photos with Shiesty to Instagram on Monday, Oct. 6, telling fans “it don’t get no bigger then ds. … #WelcomeHomeShiesty.”
Other posts have also surfaced commemorating Shiesty’s new chapter.
As of this writing, an online Federal Bureau of Prisons database lists Shiesty, real name Lontrell Williams Jr., as “not in BOP custody.” A release date is listed as April 11, 2026. While his exact status wasn't immediately clear, fans may recall claims of him having previously been released to a halfway house.
Complex has reached out to BOP reps for clarification. This story may be updated.
“Welcome home Shiesty,” Boosie Badazz wrote in an X update on Tuesday, Oct. 7, in response to the latest news, adding that “the real don’t get saluted enough.”
Rolling Loud also celebrated the news, like so:
While Shiesty hadn’t shared a new update to his Instagram as of this writing, he has been active on the platform in recent hours. In fact, he commented “I love you” on a recent post from Cardi B.
As highlighted in court docs from April 2022 viewed by Complex, Shiesty’s release from imprisonment was set to be followed by a three-year period of supervised release.
“[Pooh Shiesty] is ready....wait until you see [his] comeback,” Florida-based lawyer Bradford Cohen wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. “He will be bigger than ever. I am always glad to see a client start the climb back up to elite status. Always kept it [100]. The government wanted 10...he got 3. I always think there is a plan for people and his story isn’t over. It’s just starting.”
Complex has reached out to Cohen’s office for additional comment.
