Nicki Minaj has been declared The Breakfast Club’s Donkey of the Day by Charlamagne tha God amid her public feud with Cardi B.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, Nicki, referred to by Charlamagne as “MAGA Minaj,” was given the title following her recent X posts directed at the show’s hosts. As previously reported, Minaj at one point tagged current POTUS Donald Trump, urging him to “lock them all up” and calling them “nasty ppl.”
As Charlamagne sees it, what was once “the pinkprint” for an entire generation has now become “the stinkprint,” which he attributes to unhealed trauma on Nicki’s part.
“Your energy is just stank and nasty,” Charlamagne said. “You went from showing a generation how to be a female boss to showing a generation how to be a disgruntled artist. How does that happen? How do you go from inspiring a generation of young women to hating on a generation of young women? Well, that’s what happens when a person is in pain. That’s what happens when a person is hurting. That’s what happens when a person has a bunch of unhealed trauma that they haven’t dealt with.”
Charlamagne also argued that Nicki’s woes have nothing to do with “the industry,” but are instead being spurred by personal issues.
“When you refuse to come to terms with human nature, that simply means that you are dooming yourself to patterns beyond your control and to feelings of confusion and helplessness,” Charlamagne said. “And that’s what I see in every tweet. Confusion, a cry for help, projections of pain, a wounded ego.”
In closing, Charlamagne tied his response back to the issue of trauma while expressing his desire for Minaj to find a path toward healing.
“Your trauma is not your fault, but your healing is your responsibility,” he said. “I truly, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart hope you heal.”
