Drake on New Bobbi Althoff Podcast: 'Welcome to the Nicest Thing That Any Guy Has Ever Done for You'

Drake and Bobbi Althoff reunite to "make amends" for the inaugural episode of ‘Not This Again.’

Drake and Bobbi Althoff have reunited for the debut episode of Not This Again roughly two years after their much-discussed, much-excerpted, and much-debated 2023 interview on the since-ended Not Really Good Podcast.

Right at the top of the nearly 90-minute interview, Drake and Bobbi were both in a lighthearted mood, with the Iceman artist jokingly offering the following episode intro: “Welcome to the nicest thing that any guy has ever done for you.” From there, the two made their way into a heart-to-heart about the issues they’ve faced in their friendship, largely in connection with their first interview together.

Around 10 minutes into the new interview, Bobbi, referencing chatter about a long-rumored feud between the two, asked Drake directly, “Why did you hate me for so long?” In response, Drake argued that he “never hated” her, though there were issues between them at one point.

“You came around at an interesting time in your life and I think that I took a lot of the weight and blame at that time when you needed to get a little active on somebody,” Drake said. “I think I took some hits, verbally.”

Althoff conceded to being “mean” to Drake “once,” leading to her own assessment of what temporarily went wrong between the two of them.

“I think that you came into my life at a very big turning point in my life,” she said. “I had a very different life before and after I met you and a lot of people just assume it’s because of you and only you. I think I let a lot of those comments influence me when that happened, when that interview happened, to be like, oh, maybe this was the end of my life. But actually it was singlehandedly probably the best thing to happen to me and my kids.”

As Althoff explained when mentioning her divorce, she was very young when she was first married. At 22, she had her first child, followed two years later by her second. According to the viral social media star, she was held to an unfairly “higher standard” than others when it came to the general public’s commentary on her marriage coming to a close.

Later, Drake and Bobbi spoke about “a little argument” they had via text, with Drake connecting it to a larger “hair trigger” and sensitivity he has about other elements of his place in the music industry. Still, Drake says he’s “proud” of their initial podcast collaboration, calling it “special” and arguing that it laid the groundwork for similar crossovers in the social media space over the past two years.

Ultimately, as seen in the full video up top, both Drake and Bobbi offered an apology to each other.

When launching her new show on Monday morning, Althoff gave fans some insight into the extensive travel required for the first episode and the intentions behind her and Drake reuniting for another long-form conversation.

“For the premiere of Not This Again, Drake (rapper, singer, actor, aspiring comedian, bed enthusiast) flew me to Manchester, then Belgium, and finally Switzerland, where this episode was filmed, to make amends,” Althoff wrote. “Over two years ago, we filmed an interview in bed that was later deleted. This one is staying up, probably.”
