Swizz Beatz and Timbaland “just want to get to the action,” and with a newly announced Complex and Verzuz partnership, they’re doing exactly that.
First launched back in 2020 before quickly becoming a must-see event that expertly towed the line between full-fledged competition and legacy-minded celebration, Verzuz is back, this time with exclusive distribution on Complex. The beloved music battle series will kick off this new chapter at ComplexCon in Las Vegas later this month with a Cash Money Records and No Limit Records showdown.
Below, we break down everything you need to know.
Complex and Verzuz announce exclusive partnership
“Rather than talking so much, we just want to get to the action,” Verzuz creators Swizz Beatz and Timbaland said of its expansive relaunch in a joint statement.
Fans can expect to see more of what they already love about Verzuz, further bolstered by exclusive distribution rights from Complex, as well as limited-edition products tied to each event. The Verzuz format is also being expanded, meaning fans can look forward to a wider range of genres being represented in future editions.
“What Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have built with Verzuz is nothing short of incredible — a cultural phenomenon that has reshaped how fans engage with music and artists,” Aaron Levant, Complex CEO, said of this recharged take on what’s sure to remain a must-see event. “We are thrilled to welcome Verzuz into the Complex family, and we can’t wait to propel the show to new heights with an unrivaled line-up of events, kicking off at ComplexCon this October 25 & 26.”
