Thanks to a weed-fueled, Kendrick Lamar-featuring evening at the Peacock Theater, Bill Burr is now a Clipster.
During a recent episode of his Monday Morning Podcast, the comedian and Glengarry Glen Ross actor let fans know he was in attendance for Pusha T and Malice’s recent Los Angeles show, which did indeed boast a surprise appearance from 2025 MTV Video Music Awards nominee Kendrick Lamar. After getting to the theater, Burr smoked some weed before diving into an experience that clearly left one hell of an impression on him.
“Dude, it was fucking unbelievable, the show they put on,” Burr said Monday. “Kendrick Lamar came out and did a surprise guest star thing, came out and did a whole song. I thought the fucking roof was gonna blow off this place. I’m not gonna lie to you. I felt like the fucking old guy there, the level that people were going nuts. That would be like if I went to see AC/DC and Eddie Van Halen came out. Rest his soul. The place went crazy. It was such a great show.”
For Burr, the highlight of Clipse’s set was their performance of “The Birds Don’t Sing,” the brilliant and emotional opener to the Complex cover stars’ Pharrell-produced Let God Sort Em Out album.
As for the highness of it all, on a personal level, Burr joked that he might be ditching weed “for maybe the rest of the year” after the evening in question.
“You know when you get that level of high where you’re like, I think I need to do some sort of introspection?” he said, laughing. “I was super high.”
Clipse’s LGSEO-supporting run continues this week with stops in Tempe, San Diego, and Las Vegas. If you're looking to add the album to your collection, Complex has a variety of options available here, including boxed sets and more.
