Post Malone’s ex-girlfriend filed to dismiss her request for custody of their daughter in California—a win for the musician.
TMZ reports that Hee Sung “Jamie” Park has changed her mind and dismissed her filing for physical custody earlier this week. This comes a little more than three months after she filed the original documents.
Malone had originally filed his own custody charges in the state of Utah on April 14, just a few days before Park had filed hers in Los Angeles. Malone's charges are still active, and it looks like he will be pursuing them.
Park's move to California and petition for custody there raised red flags, according to a source that spoke with TMZ. In California, higher child support payments are permitted. Sources had claimed that Park’s move to California was simply to establish residency in order to sue Malone for more money.
Malone’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed to dismiss the California custody charges back in May.
In Park’s filing, she had asked for joint legal custody and visitation for Malone, but she wanted primary physical custody of their daughter. Malone’s filing is currently under seal in Utah.
The Grammy-winning artist has been quite protective of his privacy over the years, so it came as a surprise to fans to learn of his relationship status and entrance into fatherhood.
On an episode of Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper, Malone revealed that he had first asked his then-girlfriend to marry him while on a trip to Las Vegas in 2021, intoxicated out of his mind. Park had responded, “Ask me tomorrow.” He agreed and said to Cooper, “And then I did and I was sober and it was nice.”
He announced that he and his fiancée had welcomed a baby girl on The Howard Stern Show in June 2022, seemingly catching Howard Stern by surprise.
Malone has not commented publicly on his split from Park, but TMZ had shared a clip from TikTok that showed him out with another woman, identified as Christy Lee, back in March. They also obtained photos of Malone and Lee getting dinner together in Rome in January.
