2Pac's stepbrother, Mopreme Shakur, is questioning Drake's acquisition of what is speculated to be the late rapper's original Death Row Records chain and raising concerns about why the jewelry didn't remain within the family.

In an interview with Loren Lorosa, Mopreme shared his thoughts on Drake's recent high-profile purchase and questioned the rapper's true intentions.

Morpreme said Drake isn't making the best decisions, referencing how the 6 God claimed rappers in the UK are the best in the game.

"My man need to think more about his moves," Mopreme said. "Because I just saw an interview with him in London, talking about London got the best rappers. London rappers are better than American rappers. So why are you so seeking after the King of Raps' jewels, literal jewels?"

He continued: "If England has the best rappers, why are you doing this?... So I don't know."

Though Mopreme said that he wasn't trying to spark drama, he voiced his disappointment that the Death Row chain isn't staying in 2Pac's family.

"I think the family should have all of 'Pac's things, personally," he said. "But things don't always work out that way. But my personal opinion. That's what I feel."

Drake made headlines last month after revealing he had purchased the diamond-studded Death Row pendant, which features the label's logo and references 2Pac's 1996 album All Eyez On Me. The piece was acquired from memorabilia dealer Alexander Bitar, who specializes in rare hip-hop artifacts.

Experts have estimated the price of the chain to be between $500,000 and $1 million, although the exact figure has not been disclosed.

Drake shared images of the chain on Instagram alongside a photo from 2Pac's All Eyez On Me era. In 2023, Drake purchased the legendary rapper's custom gold crown ring that sold for over $1 million at auction.

Despite the hefty sum of Drake's most recent purchase, not everyone is convinced the chain is authentic. Suge Knight publicly expressed doubt, claiming it is "not 2Pac's chain" and "not a Death Row chain." He told Drake of the seller, "You need to go beat his ass."
