Jim Jones Says Mase Used to 'Sh*t' on Cam'ron Back in the Day

Jones never liked how Mase treated Cam, which led to his issues with him.

Jim Jones has revealed that his beef with Mase came from how the latter used to treat Cam'ron back in the day.

During his appearance on Justin Laboy's #Respectfully show, Jones opened up about his feelings towards Mase, which has been somewhat contentious over the years. Before Mase blew up with Bad Boy Records and Dipset became a pop culture phenomenon, Mase and Cam were best friends growing up in Harlem.

Jones, who was also very close with Cam, hung around the two and saw how their whole friendship played out. At some point, Mase got a deal with Bad Boy Records and allegedly started treating the people around him differently, including Cam. Eventually, the two friends became enemies and started beefing once Mase left Harlem.

"I watched Mase shit on Cam and everybody around him," said Jones at around the 16:40 mark. "Like all the time. I was there the whole time. I was Cam's man you heard? Cam and Mase were so-called best friends, grew up together...I was there for everything. That's one thing people can't never say is that I wasn't there for every single thing."

Capo explained that his beef with Mase stemmed from how the latter treated Cam all those years ago when he was coming up in the game. According to Jones, Cam loved Mase and made sure he did what he could to help him chase his rap dreams, but money got in the way, and Mase switched up. However, Jones made it clear that he was not surprised Cam and Mase were able to become friends again and make money through their sports talk show, It Is What It Is.

"Cam was jumping out the window for him, which a friend should and shit like that," said Jones at around the 17:30 mark. "Like being overprotective, making sure nothing happens. He was trying his best to make sure that Mase stayed as safe as possible. But Mase had got that money and lost his muthafucking mind."

He added, "I seen crazier shit happen. I seen brothers that done shot brothers and shit like that. So, for friends to get back after whatever they went through, it's not surprising to me and shit like that but I see they don't talk about the days of being shit on you heard the things the separated them and shit like that. So you know it's funny but kudos to them. They got a dope show, who am I to hate on what they got going on. I hope they make a trillion dollars."

Shortly after Jones' comments circulated on social media, Cam and Mase's It Is What It Is Instagram page shared a photo of them back in the day with a caption referencing how the duo isn't focused on what happened between them in the past.

"NO NEED TO DWELL ON THE PAST, WE HERE NOW, WE GONE 'PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT,'" read the caption.
