Dame Dash is making it clear he isn’t happy with Cam’ron’s role in 50 Cent’s upcoming Paid in Full television series.
The Roc-A-Fella co-founder, who produced the 2002 classic film, which was loosely based on the lives of 1980s drug kingpins in his native Harlem, took to Instagram to fire shots at Cam after learning he had signed on as an executive producer for 50’s project.
“Cam just made a post, major announcement,” Dash said in a video. “I wanna congratulate him for making 50 his new boss. So, congratulations, Cam, 50’s your new boss.”
He doubled down in his caption, writing: “Congratulations on making @50cent your new boss @mr_camron wish yall the best of luck.”
50 Cent announced earlier this week that he had acquired the rights to Paid in Full, posting the film’s original poster and telling fans, “I now have the rights to PAID IN FULL, I’m developing it into a premium TV show. If you like the Godfather of Harlem, you’re gonna love this.” He added that Cam would executive produce alongside him.
Cam’ron wasted no time responding, dismissing Dame’s criticism with a jab of his own, and using one of Dash's favorite phrases to boot: “U really turned into a chatty patty damn. Tagging me every post. N***as get cut out of tv series everyday B, u be ight. U only doing this for clicks, this the most action u got in ya Channel EVER. You welcome. For now on my lil n***a. Lolol. Go to the store for me real quick.”
Dash and Cam'ron have a decades-long friendship and on-and-off business relationship that has lately turned sour, with the men trading shots on social media.
While fans are buzzing about the revival of Paid in Full, which starred Cam, Mekhi Phifer, and Wood Harris, Dash’s public words have shown that he does not appear to be involved in the reboot.
