Nicki Minaj issued an important reminder to fans this week: Don’t poke the mama bear.
Fresh off the heels son’s 4th birthday, the Queen rapper took to X to issue a firey and lengthy rant in defense of her family.
Minaj shared the post on Oct. 2, a day after she shared several photos and videos from her boy’s special day.
One of the pictures showed Minaj sitting in an indoor playground alongside her husband, Kenneth Petty. “They used to be giving yall the #fakenews so loud & proud I thought a brain vessel was gon pop,” she captioned the post. “You’d have to have a brain for that tho.”
Some suspected Nicki was using the photo to shut down claims about her husband’s restrictions as a registered sex offender, specifically his alleged ban from parks; however, one X user was more concerned that Nicki’s son was not seen in the aforementioned photo: “Only you could make your child birthday about a man,” the person wrote.
Well, needless to say, Nicki had time that day. She returned to X with a 600-plus word, bullet-pointed post explaining why the criticism was baseless and ill-conceived.
“Dear weak loser tweeting about someone else’s bday b/c you have nothing to rejoice about in your own sad existence & clearly don’t feel loved & definitely not paid attention to due to your ugliness,” she began. “There are 24 hours in one’s bday. So you have no idea what anyone’s bday was like via a photo on social media.”

Nicki pointed out that nothing in her initial post referenced a birthday, which led her to wonder: How did the critic “know” she was celebrating her little boy’s birthday?
“Oh right,” she continued. “OBSESSED WITH ONIKA!!!!! DING 🛎️ DING 🛎️ DING 🛎️. Obsessed, ugly AND a VERY low IQ.”
Nick also accused the user of downplaying Petty’s role in her life and her son’s life, insisting he wasn’t just “a man,” he was a father and a husband. She also boasted about her come-up and financial success, suggesting it was a big reason why she received so much hate.
“While yall sit around worried about other ppl’s families & labels, yall shit crumbling like cookies HEAUX,” she wrote. “All the energy & TIME that yall have used for hate & obsession & jealousy & envy could’ve been spent WISELY on your own lives, households, & careers.”
