Turns out those Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars rumors were true.
On Thursday afternoon, the Grammy-winning artists took to Instagram to announce their joint single, “Die with a Smile,” and its official video. Gaga and Bruno didn’t provide any details on what they had in store, but the track’s cover art suggested they had something countrified up their sleeves. The artwork showed the singers dressed in blue and red getups that went heavy on the retro Western vibes.
“Song and video tonight! 9pm PT,” Bruno captioned the post.
Gaga also shared the art on her socials, and suggested the track was not part of her forthcoming studio: “WHILE YOU WAIT TILL LG7… ‘DIE WITH A SMILE’,” she wrote, ‘a duet with @brunomars.”
“Die with a Smile,” produced by Andrew Watt, marks Gaga and Bruno’s first official track together. The two sparked collaboration rumors earlier this week when they were spotted wearing each other’s merch tees.

It’s unclear if the single is a standalone release or part of a full-length effort. Bruno is reportedly working on his fourth solo studio album (his first since 2016’s 24K Magic), while Gaga is preparing to release LG7. The Oscar-nominated actress teased the effort during a Q&A session back in June.
“I am in the studio every single day,” she said, as reported by Elle magazine. “I have written so many songs, I’ve been producing so many songs, and it’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before. I love to break genre, and I love to explore music. There’s something really beautiful about knowing that you will be loved no matter what you do.”
She continued: “Something I’m definitely exploring right now is sort of the art of intensity and I think that the art of intensity actually began during this tour. But I’m not done with it yet.”
