Ja Rule looks good for his age but, believe it or not, he's just announced that he's about to be a grandfather.
On Thursday (October 16), Ja stopped by Sherri Shepherd's talk show and shared that he and his wife Aisha Atkins' only daughter, Brittney Aitken, is expecting her first child with husband Tevin Aitken.
"I'm about to be a grandfather," the 49-year-old rapper told the crowd, before adding that the news he just shared "don't even sound right."
Ja then told Shepherd how Brittney made the "very cute" announcement to the soon-to-be first-time grandparents.
"She put the sonogram in a box, and it was a card that said, 'You are now grandma and grandfather.' And the sonogram was in the thing," he recalled. "She said, 'I got a gift for you guys.' And we thought it was a real gift — I mean, that is a real gift, don't get me wrong!"
"So, we go and we open it up, and she got the camera on me to see me and wifey's expression," he continued. "It was an amazing moment."
Following his announcement, Brittney took to Instagram to reflect on the news of her pregnancy. "SURPRISE!!!!! This little bean, is having a little bean 🫘🤗" she captioned her post. "Holding this secret has been so hard but so worth it, momma and daddy can’t wait to meet you 🥰"
A video of the moment when Ja Rule and Aisha found out was included in the post. "In that moment, I felt like, this is how it's supposed to be," the rapper said.
Earlier this year, Ja walked Brittney down the aisle at her wedding.
