Cardi B has been debating with people on X for describing herself as light-skinned.

Cardi pushed back on someone’s argument that the term “light skin” is specifically used to describe a Black person with a lighter complexion by pointing out how people of the Dominican Republic are made up of different races.

"Dominicans are so diverse when it comes to skin color Dark, brown, tan, light, white ….so what am I supposed to say when I'm describing my complexion….I’m Dominican skin?" she asked.

Cardi B called someone else’s reasoning "automatically invalid" because they paired a racial classification, such as white, with a nationality, like Dominican.

Skin color seems to be a recurring topic of discussion for Cardi B, who denied claims she bleached her skin last month. The Invasion of Privacy rapper questioned why anyone would suspect her of doing something like that while pregnant.

"Bleaching while pregnant?," Cardi asked. "Why must yall be so dumb? Actually NO! I’m pregnant I'm slightly anemic, this baby suckin all the energy off my body to the point I’m pale, eyes sunken, veins green ASF, can’t tan under the sun cause I get hot super fast and dizzy …. PLEASE STOP THINKIN WITH YOUR ASSHOLE!"
