Willow Smith often poses questions for her social media followers, but her latest inquiry has people scratching their heads.
On Friday (October 11), the musician pondered in an Instagram Story post whether asking someone on a date was outdated. "Am I just delusional or people asking other people out on dates is kinda like old-school?" Willow asked. "I don't even remember the last time someone was like, 'Hey, would you want to go on a date with me?'"
"I'm gonna start saying it again," she continued. "Okay, yeah, people still hang out in a romantic way, obviously, but like, to explicitly ask someone out on a date and use those specific words — especially someone you don't really know that well — that's a different kind of thing. Like, 'Would you wanna go out on a date with me?' When's the last time someone asked you that?"
Smith's question received divided comments when reposted by The Shade Room, where some Instagram users referenced Willow's parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, who are separated.
"Nah they ask for entanglements... Since you wanna say stupid shit," wrote one person, who brought up Pinkett Smith's infamous comments about her former lover, August Alsina.
"Facts… cuz 'let’s link' don’t give me butterflies 😂," wrote someone else, who agreed with Willow.
In an Instagram Story last month, Willow compared "anxiety" to being in labor, calling the feeling of excessive worrying "psychological contractions." The post came weeks after Willow jokingly shared a picture of herself crying and wondering, "Who ate all the pussy," which some found vulgar.
