Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre look as if they might have confirmed rumors that they're an item with help from a new short film — watch it below.
On Friday (May 30), after months of speculation that the two are dating, Taylor posted the teaser for her fourth album, Escape Room. The LP, slated to arrive sometime in August, will be Taylor's first since The Album, which was released in 2020.
The short begins with Taylor exchanging vows with LaKeith Stanfeld, with other scenes showing the actor in a cage and fighting Taylor. The actress/singer leaves her husband for Pierre's character, before the visual ends with the Rebel Ridge star aiming a gun at Taylor.
The album teaser comes after Taylor and Pierre sparked dating rumors earlier this year when they were spotted at public events together, including the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
The Escape Room preview seems to symbolize Taylor's 2024 divorce from Iman Shumpert, whom she shares two daughters with. Despite the divorce having been finalized last July, Shumpert filed a motion earlier this month for his ex-wife to be found in contempt in court for allegedly violating terms of their divorce.
The former NBA player accused Taylor of "willfully and contemptuously expos[ing] and broadcast[ing] specific provisions of the final judgment decree of divorce and related provisions, recklessly disregarding the financial circumstances, privacy, safety, and security of the parties and their minor children."
Taylor previously wanted her ex-husband to be held in contempt, claiming that Shumpert leaked sealed documents, making her a victim of misleading reports about what she was awarded in their divorce.
Taylor explained there was no settlement as she and Shump were given what was awarded to them by a judge. She also said she paid for the cars and tour bus that was given to her while also adding that her ex-husband walked away with three properties, including one that was a gift for her.
