The friendship between Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg remains strong roughly 30 years after the artists and collaborators met.
The West Coast rap icons were interviewed by Capital XTRA earlier this month to promote their canned cocktails Gin & Juice, but were also asked about how they've maintained their bond.
As Dr. Dre signed Snoop to his former label, Death Row Records, and was also his early mentor, producing his 1993 debut Doggystyle, around the three-minute mark, Snoop was asked about what their relationship has taught him.
"Dr. Dre has like always been a big brother, a mentor," Snoop replied. "But he taught me professionalism as far as how to separate from the hood and how to, you know, get on a business venture and just look forward and not really pay attention to what's behind you."
"He’s always had the attitude and spirit of 'I don’t care about what I’ve made; it’s all about what I’m about to make.' And that’s a good spirit that I’ve taken from him," he continued. "I don’t even know how many albums I’ve made since I started, but it’s always about what’s next, what’s best."
"He’s like a big brother, protector. I just love being with him in the studio and in real life," the "Beautiful" artist concluded.
Along with their pre-mixed drink collaboration, Dr. Dre and Snoop have continued to support each other throughout the recent years during their respective Walk of Fame honors and the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show.
