R&B singer Jaheim has been booked on animal cruelty charges for a second time.
On May 1, the "Put That Woman First" artist, born Jaheim Hoagland, was reportedly arrested for the endangering of his six dogs in Atlanta. Jaheim, who was charged with six counts of animal cruelty, is accused of not providing his dogs with adequate water, leaving them in unsanitary conditions and having insufficient ventilation. Among the dog breeds the singer housed were four pitbull terriers, a French bulldog and a hound mix-breed.
Jaheim was released the following day, but the arrest comes three years after he was arrested and charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care to an animal. At the time, the vocalist was alleged to have starved fifteen dogs at his New Jersey residence, including one that was found unresponsive and needed to be euthanized. Among the surviving dogs recovered were 12 mixed-breed pit bull terriers, two American Staffordshire terriers, and a mixed-breed boxer. The dogs were later put up for adoption.
Last year, the three-time Grammy nominee toured with Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz and K. Michelle for the Love Hard Tour. His last album, Struggle Love, was released in 2016.
