French Montana is facing a lawsuit after two businessmen have accused him of running off with their watch.

According to TMZ, Justo Obiang and Samir Gato filed the lawsuit on Thursday (October 16) after claiming to have met Montana (real name Karim Kharbouch) in 2015. In 2024, the group planned to meet in Egypt to trade watches, but according to Obiang and Gato, Montana refused to.

The rapper allegedly asked to borrow their $1 million watch, insuring that it would be returned after Paris Fashion Week, but to no avail. But Montana is said to have not left the men hanging, giving them a watch as collateral and claiming that it was worth $1 million.

Now, Obiang and Gato are claiming that the watch is counterfeit and that Montana has dodged their continued efforts to retrieve their watch. In their lawsuit, the men seek $1 million in damages and are suing Montana for wrongful enrichment, conversion and misleading misrepresentation.

Montana's lawyer, Steve Haddad, said his client denies the accusations and plans to countersue. The rapper allegedly accepted Obiang and Gato's watch as payment after being "convinced" by Obiang to visit Egypt for promotional reasons.

Meanwhile, Montana had a big win this week relating to a sample trial involving his 2013 song "Ain't Worried About Nothing." Producer Eddie Lee Richardson had alleged that the beat for the song was pulled from his track "Hood Pushin’ Weight." On a "technical" decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ruled that Richardson failed to prove his case, making Montana the victor.
