It looks like Latto and Ice Spice are on good terms. The pair dropped off their new collaborative track “Gyatt" to streaming services on Wednesday, September 3. Latto and Ice took to social media to let fans know that a music video for the song will be arriving on Thursday.

What was Ice Spice and Latto’s beef about?

In 2022, Latto and Nicki Minaj traded blows on social media after the latter expressed disbelief over her single, “Super Freaky Girl,” being ineligible for hip-hop categories at the Grammys, arguing that Latto’s smash hit “Big Energy” shouldn’t be considered either.

A year later, Complex cover star Ice Spice blows up onto the scene and collaborates with Minaj, who crowns her the “Princess of Rap.” Latto lands a collaborative hit of her own with Minaj’s longtime rival Cardi B, “Put It on Da Floor.”

The common denominator appears to be loyalty (or in Latto’s case, disloyalty) to Minaj. In 2023, the “Big Energy” rapper appeared to take shots at Ice Spice on “Fine As Can Be” with Offset (who happens to be Cardi’s now-ex, if you’re keeping up). She raps, “That n***a a munch/Yo’ bookin’ fee, ate it for lunch,” which appeared to reference the Bronx rapper’s breakout hit “Munch (Feelin’ U).”

At the top of 2024, Ice Spice released her flatulence-inspired “Think U The Shit (Fart),” which features the lyrics, “Got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up/She all on the floor, told her get up,” a possible reference to Latto and Cardi’s collaboration.

Latto did briefly acknowledge Ice Spice in a Billboard interview published in August of 2024, several months after Ice’s perceived diss record. When asked if she’d get into a rap battle with Ice, Latto replied, “If I was to do [a battle], it would have to be with somebody I feel like Imma go tit for tat with. I really don’t mean it as shade. Would she even want to do that? I feel like she’s doing her in her lane. It’s two different types of vibes.”
