Freddie Gibbs, known for never shying away from some drama, had some choice words for Gunna after spotting him sitting close to his section at the 2025 MTV VMAs.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Gibbs is seen with his friend singing along to Ricky Martin's 1999 hit "Livin' La Vida Loca" with the caption, "2 n****s that never ratted." The comments are in reference to the former YSL rapper being labeled a "rat" and "snitch" by his former friend and collaborator Young Thug, who disavowed the rapper after he took an Alford plea in the highly publicized RICO trial.
"I see you, boy. He's tryna hide," Gibbs says as he zooms in on the back of Gunna's head, calling him a "rat bastard." He then overlays another clip of Gunna's head with a clip from his song "Lavish Habits" from his most recent album, Alfredo 2, in which he raps, "I'm still gon' squeeze Akademiks titties, that fat bastard/ Gunna dissed me and took a plea, he a rat bastard."
Aside from the Young Thug stuff, Gunna and Gibbs have had a feud of their own dating back to 2020, when the provocateur criticized Gunna for appearing on Crime Stoppers. In 2022, Gunna fired back with "poochie down," rapping, "I can’t fuck with Freddie Gibbs (No) / N****s tellin’ fibs."
As for Gunna, he has remained quiet as Young Thug deals with the aftermath of the RICO trial. After several days of jail calls leaking, the So Much Fun rapper said he's "moving forward."
